First day of workshop - first project was an improvisation/soundwalk. One team improvised sounds while the other team sent a member with binaural microphones to listen. The second team then listened to the improvisation through headphones. This was pretty fun - I enjoyed improvising around the members of the other team, and got to be the listener when the other team improvised. It was intense!

The second project was fun too - my group performed a certain common, copyrighted song in three different environments, shot a video, and exchanged the audio among the environments. Quite amusing, if I do say so myself.

I didn’t “get” the other project until it was over. But it was neato-completo.

Today we’re learning how to use this groovy little site here. I think I can handle it. I surely hope so. My life depends on it. Not really. This isn’t even marked. So why am I here? ‘Cause I’m an internet geek. But I don’t have a flikr account. Actually I might, so I can see photos. But I don’t have anything posted. I do have stuff on facebook, though. Of course, I didn’t shoot any of the photos. I just steal them from other people. I was caught stealing - once - when I was five. I enjoy stealing. It’s just as simple as that. It’s a simple fact. When I want something, man, I don’t want to pay for it.

1440 - we are documenting our project from yesterday, and we are going to see if people can name that tune. So far, they’re way off. Losers! Just kidding - I doubt I could guess it either.

1530 - I’m looking through the Live Archives site, finding some interesting projects. My favorite is the Centre For Suburban Research residency. I remember looking at this a long time ago and thinking “ah, this must be what they did in their free time.” I shoulda known that the seemingly mundane tasks of cooking dinner and watching rabbits were the point of the whole thing! Silly me. I want to do a residency there! Maybe it’ll help me hone my cooking skilz.

1615 - Our video is up, and people are making guesses. It’s really exciting! The variety of guesses is quite cool too.

1643 - I posted a link to the video on Facebook, but most of my friends on there are from the states, and it’s only 1143 there, so they’re probably all asleep.  Hey, I tried!
