21.4.08 11.30 the studio!

Starting the video editing process. I hope FinalCut will do what I want! OK, here we go.

15.30 still in the studio! FinalCut is NOT quite doing what I want it to do!!! But I won’t give up.
The exporting function failed 3 times in a row. Anyway, at least I started writing the paper!

16.45 Giving up now. After spending the last few hours reading the handbook I will stop at this point. There is something wrong with the sequence settings.

16.50 YESSSSSS! Paul came and saved me! Its working! Was not entirely my fault! hope to keep up with the plan tomorrow! ThanX Paul!

22.4.08 7.50 am!!! in the studio again!

managed to finish my 1st cut in the morning. FinalCut crashed 3 times - wow! But now after installing FinalCut on my iMac, I hope this will be history.

13.00 ProTools session set up and ready to ROCK. My first victim is Carey. He did a great improvised vocal performance.
Next one was Brendan: he played some nice electric guitar noises.
Justin finally added a saxophone track to the first audio part.
I also added a guitar track.

14:16 Going to start the mixing now. The idea is to keep it simple. No effects! Same as I did with the video.

16:50 Good work today. Back on route!

23.4.08 8.30 finishing the audio mix. sounds good even without any effects.

12.00 MIX finished, now I have to add the soundtrack to the video
14.50 FinalCut finished. Exporting Quicktime now.
15.17 Uploading Quicktime movie to YouTube.
Will open a new thread with all the videos!

22.51 Finished writing the first part of the documentation. Hope to finish the first video re-editing before the meeting with Paul at 2pm!!! Good night!

24.4.08 8.03 started the day…

…with some administrative work: livearchives.org is updated, videos are online, made some changes to the paper.

9.11 starting work in FinalCut

12.35 Finished the re-editing of the video! It was a hard task because the original symbiosis of music and video was really organic and fluent. Anyway, I tried to edit the video more musically and added a few more clips, but still no FX whatsoever. Uploading the new version at the minute so it should be available soon at livearchives.org.

14.45 Meeting with Paul went really well. He gave me some great ideas of what to do with the videos, the music and which ways to go from this point. I am very motivated and looking forward to some great RE-shooting-ediTing-viDeo-music-RE-mixing-DJ-VJ-ing …

1.5.08 Meeting with Brian Cullen, intense FinalCut session!!!

2.5.08 Meeting with Sile O’Modhrain.

Played her the soundtrack and we had some nice new ideas for the next stages of the process!!!

5.5.08 video shoot Nr. 2

13.5.08 video shoot Nr.3

Tried to do some Jonze-Gondry-ish FX-shots. Introducing Hary Saitis as the trumpet player! Now I know what Hollywood is like! Spent half of the day for a 5 second sequence!!!
