Site Navigation
This page describes the multiple methods by which you can find your way around www.livearchives.org
Method 1: tag cloud - the home page of this site prominently features a tag cloud in orange text. A tag cloud is a collection of words (tags), selected by contributors to the site, which describe various site content. Currently, LiveArchives allows contributors to add and edit tags that are linked to individual posts. The more often an individual tag is used the larger the word or phrase appears within the tag cloud, thus allowing you to easily identify popular tags. By clicking on any word or phrase within the tag cloud, you can navigate to a list of (possibly) related posts which have been tagged by your selection. This method of user-led classification is known as a folksonomy.
Method 2: Categories - on the left sidebar of any page or post within this site you can access a section labelled ‘Categories’. By clicking on any of the displayed categories (Announcement, Event, etc.) you can navigate to a list of posts that have been filed under your selection. For example, if you select ‘Person’ you will be taken to a list of posts that give information on individual people. Currently, LiveArchives does not make use of sub-categories (although this may change), therefore heavily used categories such as ‘Event’ allow you to browse a large selection of information ranging from discussions to performance documentation, yet may prove to be limitedly useful if you are looking for a specific post.
Method 3: Search - on the left sidebar of any page or post within this site you can access a search engine. By typing in specific words and phrases, and then clicking on the search button, you can navigate to a list of posts that contain your inputted search terms. An Advanced Search option is currently being developed.
Method 4: Latest Discussion and Recent Posts - both of these navigation options are available from the left sidebar on any page or post within this site. Latest Discussion lists the 5 most recent comments. Recent Posts list the 10 most recent posts.
